Hi everyone,
We owe you an apology for the slow updates. We set ambitious goals during pre‑production and let our excitement push us ahead of our ability to communicate, but we never stopped working. Over the past months we’ve quietly been building the foundations: nearly all weapons and armor are modeled, the toughest creature sculpts (including Bodada and the Tikbalang) are complete, and modular Torogan architecture assets are ready. We also have a working base framework for the game; the next step is integrating the models into that framework so we can turn these preparations into playable content.
We want to be honest about why updates lagged. This is an indie project built around full‑time jobs and real lives, and sometimes personal responsibilities pull time away from development. For example, Haythem, our lead developer, had a major move that delayed progress for a couple of months. That said, every spare hour has gone into the project — we’ve been pushing forward on our own time and refocusing where it matters most.
There’s good news on the team and creative front. Ruth has joined us as a dedicated story writer and will be crafting quests, interactions, and the game’s lore. Our artist has been very productive and, as part of that work, we’ve finished designing the Digmaan card game — a supplemental card set that features illustrations of almost every character planned for Batikan World and includes a QR code linking to the in‑game codex. As a thank‑you to our earliest supporters, we’ll be offering 30% off the Digmaan card game when it launches next month after our Gamefound fundraiser.
From here on out we’re shifting into a more focused phase: converting assets into gameplay and building the playable demo we promised. We’ve crossed many items off our to‑do list and will be sharing more frequent, concrete updates — including links to the project page and the Discord — so you can follow progress as it happens.
We truly appreciate your belief in this project. We’re not stopping; we’ve simply refocused and are working harder than ever to deliver something we can all be proud of. Expect another update soon with links and more details.
With gratitude, Robin
